Joint pain can be caused by an injury or is often the result of a chronic condition such as arthritis, osteoarthritis or tendinitis. In many cases, the pain disappears spontaneously after some time, while in other cases pain continues repeatedly and with varying degrees of intensity.
Joint pain can severely affect your quality of life, especially if it limits your ability to move, making it difficult to perform daily tasks.
Fortunately, the pain can now be alleviated in many ways, especially important is a healthy lifestyle. It is therefore advisable to avoid certain foods so as not to exacerbate your condition.
In this article, we introduce you to 9 foods that you should better avoid.
1. Dairy products
Milk and lactose-containing products are not the best foods for people with problems in their joints. This is due to the protein casein, which can promote infections and pain in the affected area. We recommend replacing dairy products with vegetable proteins.
Corn contains omega-6 fatty acids that can increase inflammation. If you suffer from rheumatoid arthritis or have joint pain for other reasons, it is better to stay away from corn. Do not forget that corn is also found in many processed foods.
As a substitute you can choose olive oil, flaxseed or other foods with omega-3 fatty acids.
3. Red meat
Red meat should only be consumed in moderation and should not be part of your daily diet. Although red meat is not harmful per se, it can increase the risk of rheumatoid arthritis and other pathological tissue inflammation in large quantities.
The iron contained in the red meat is good for the production of hemoglobin, but an elevated level can have a negative effect on your health and cause bloating and pain. You are better of choosing to consume chicken, turkey or fish instead.
Eggs are very healthy and an important protein source for the organism. However, the egg yolk also contains saturated fatty acids as well as arachidonic acid, a substance that can cause inflammatory reactions.
The best way to reduce the consumption of eggs as much as possible and tries to limit itself to the protein.
5. Sugary drinks
Sugary drinks, including carbonated drinks, contain a lot of chemicals that can affect your health in many ways. In the case of joint pain, they are all the more harmful, because too much sugar and phosphoric acids damage the joints gradually.
Although it seems to be a good option for many people to drink, it would be healthier to switch to natural alternatives such as fresh fruit juices, water and herbal tea.
The habit to drink a few cups of coffee every day can lead to a considerable worsening of your joint pain. Coffee contains caffeine and causes less intake of important vitamins and minerals, while it increases inflammation and other symptoms.
As an alternative, caffeine-free coffee or herbal teas containing no stimulating substances are available.
7. Fast food
Fast food is definitely not recommended for inflammation and joint pain. The increased levels of unhealthy fatty acids, sugars and carbohydrates overload the organs and make it more difficult to break down toxins.
As a consequence, inflammation increases and fats accumulate in the organism, causing overweight in the loger run.
Potatoes are rich in potassium, which is especially beneficial for the organism.
Nonetheless, patients suffering from arthritis or having other problems with their joints should avoid potatoes because they contain small amounts of a toxin called solanine, which can worsen the condition.
9. Dried fruits
In general, dry fruits are not harmful to health and are actually very rich in nutrients, but some of them contain high levels of omega-6 fatty acids, which promote inflammation in bone joints.

The reduced consumption of the foods listed above contribute positively to the treatment of pain in your joints. It is therefore advisable, in addition to the medical treatment, to change the diet to allow the best possible cure.
