Paschimottanasana (Two-Legged Forward bend) – Yoga for your Brain
Prevention with seated precaution – this asana, called Paschimottanasana, is a true fountain and also strengthens the immune system. “Pashima” means west and means the back of the body. “Ut” is called up and “tan” stretch. Paschimottanasana thus describes an attitude in which the back of the body is intensively stretched upward.
- Come in the long seat. Sit down with your legs outstretched.

Who can do the Forward Bend Sitting Pose?
Not everyone can do the Pashimottanasana exercise. For example, people who have problems with the spinal column or with the intervertebral discs, for example, after a herniated disc, are strongly advised not to do this yoga exercise. Also, anyone who suffers from acute pain in the spine should avoid the exercise, because in the worst case it can intensify the pain even further. Paschimottanasana is also to be discouraged if there is inflammation in the abdomen. Pregnant women who are in the second third of pregnancy should also skip this exercise.
However, if you are healthy and want to do something good for your spine from time to time, you should not skip Paschimottanasana during your yoga exercises, because this special exercise improves the mobility of the spine and also helps to relieve the abdomen .
