Various studies on individuals have been conducted throughout the years. Weight measured through the Body Mass index (BMI) was long known to be a valuable ressource. Latest Research however shows clearly that being within the normal BMI range does not protect you from weight related diseases.
Especially the fat around the stomach area reduces the blood flow towards the kidneys and thus promoting a higher blood pressure within the kidneys. This can affect even people that are absolutely healthy otherwise.

Belly fat brings certain risks, such as increased cholesterol and thus a chance to suffer from vascular diseases. A decrease in belly size from 1 cm results in a 3 % lower risk to suffer from vascular diseases.

- woman under 80 cm
- men 94 – 102 cm
- woman 80 – 88 cm

How to messure your Belly circumference
Taking measurement of the belly fat circumference is easy. There are a few things though that needs to be considered to get the msot accurate messures.
1.) Right Timing – when it is best to take messure:
- in the morning
- before breakfast
- best in front of a mirror
2.) At the right level – where to palce the messure:
Place the messure where your stomach is at its highest circumference. With most people this will be around on the level of their navel.
3.) Take different messurements
- Measure: Breath out and pull your stomach in as far as possible.
- Measure: Breath in and bring your stomach to its biggest size.
- Measure: Relax your stomach and measure. This measurement provides the most valuable measurement.
4.) Record your results
Use the measure tape or a note book and write down the results of your three measurements. This allows you to monitor your progression.
5.) Visualize your goal
Give yourself a realistic goal. The constant monitoring of your belly size will keep you motivated to reach your healthy stomach circumference.
